Well here's an update I honestly never thought I'd make...
Following the cancellation of Clear Lakes 44, Marble Hornets creator Troy Wagner stated that there would be a soft-reboot, of sorts, in which he told a story closer to what he had originally envisioned for Clear Lakes.
Now, I love Troy (in spite of his actions that led to the disbandment of THAC [see previous update]), but if I'm being perfectly honest, I didn't think that would happen. At least not anytime soon, that is.
However, I recently discovered that the new series had already debuted a short while ago. It is entitled ECKVA (or eckvanet) and honestly.... I really like it so far. As of now, there have been eight entries and I can say that they have genuinely piqued my interest. Not to the same degree that Marble Hornets did all those years ago, but definitely enough to keep my watching.
The feeling is bittersweet. I was very intrigued by Clear Lakes 44 and genuinely excited to see where it would go. Unfortunately, that is a gratification I, nor anyone else, will ever be able to achieve. And, of course, there's the elephant in the room in regards to what happened with THAC. In spite of all of that, however, I am happy that Troy has found it within himself to put out this new content and you can bet I'll be following the series as much as I can. I encourage anyone who reads this to do the same.
I don't think I'll be able to return to much activity on this page, however. I'm at a very, very different place in my life right now than I was when I first assumed control of this group a number of years ago.
Still, it feels wonderfully nostalgic to be posting here again... much like the experience of ECKVA itself. No drama, no worries, just spooky content and good times.
Sometimes, you just have to see what's important. At least at the moment.
Thank you, all.
